In this issue of KIRK Technical News, you will find information about
the latest firmware updates. The changes are described in the
KIRK Release Notes available for download at the Polycom website
together with the new firmware.

KIRK 5020

An updated firmware release (PCS 08Ea >>) of the KIRK 5020
is now available at the Polycom web site. This is a main
release replacing the PCS 08Ca as the latest generally
available release. With this new release a number of
improvements have been implemented. The start date
is now set to 1/1 – 2010, and the display driver has
been optimized for speed. Read all the details in
the KIRK 5020 Release Notes >>.

KIRK 5040

An updated firmware release (PCS 08Ea >>) of the
KIRK 5040 is available from the Polycom website.
This is a main release replacing the PCS 08Ca as
the latest generally available release. With this
new release a number of improvements have been
implemented such as the adding of extra
acknowledgement to the signaling between
the Bluetooth and DECT chipsets to ensure
successful Bluetooth communication. Read

KWS6000

An updated firmware release of the KWS6000 (PCS05 >>)
is available from the Polycom website. This release
replaces the PCS04__ release. With this release call
waiting and local call forwarding are now supported.
Provisioning has also been improved, and the message
log can now be read with standard software. Read

KWS6000 Release Notes >>.

KWS300

An updated firmware release of the KWS300 (PCS 05 >>)
is available from the Polycom website. This release
replaces the PCS 04__ release. With this release
call waiting and local call forwarding are now supported.
Provisioning has also been improved, and the string
length for SIP parameters has been increased.

KIRK IP BASE STATION

An updated firmware release of the KIRK IP Base Station
(PCS 05 >>) is available from the Polycom website.
This release replaces the PCS04A_ release. This release
comes with remote syslog via UDP, and support for reading
the message log with standard software. Read all the

KIRK BASE STATION

An updated firmware release of the KIRK Base Station
(PCS03D >>) is available from the Polycom website.
This release replaces the PCS03C_ release as the latest

  • Added XML-RPC application interface. The new XML-RPC
    based application interface uses open standards and
    is easy to use. 
  • This interface gives access to the same functionality
    as the existing MSF interface but is not based on
    a Microsoft Windows API. 
  • The existing MSF interface will not be affected
